Floor Sanding Spotted Gum Timber Floors

FLOOR SANDING & POLISHING

Floor Sanding Mixed Hardwood Timber Floors
THE PROCESS

Every project starts by punching all the nails (where necessary), next is a level sand of the entire floor, filling all the nails and imperfections on the face of the floorboards with a filler and closely matching the darkest board in the floor. We do not recommend filling any gaps between the floorboards as this may move or push out if the timber moves with the weather changing as timber is a natural product and it expands and contract’s depending on the climate.

The next step is to continue the sanding process over the entire floor several times, including edge sanding up to the skirting boards and kick boards, hand scraping corners and edges where the sander has not reached.

We dust down walls, bench tops and skirting boards etc before a thorough vacuum of all the floor area.

After the sanding and vacuuming is done, we start applying our coating systems. Commencing with a sealer and dependent on the system we are using on your floors, the final coat will be applied the following day to achieve the desired look you’re after, whether it be full gloss, semi-gloss, satin or even the popular silky matte finish.

Floor Sanding Cypress Pine Timber Floors

The entire process will take 3–4 days dependent on the size of your floor.

Tom will come to your home to discuss and provide advice to ensure we can meet your desired look.

We laser measure the area to be sanded, polished and provide an estimate with a fully detailed, estimated quote by email within 2 days.

We can arrange discuss with you the date of work and time required to complete the project and schedule what is best for you and your family. We ensure we arrive on time every time. We will touch base with you a few days before arriving on site to ensure everything is ready to go and answer any questions you may have in relation to the process.

We arrive on site between 7–8am. We require the property to be vacant and any furniture relocated to other areas, so it is not affected. We normally allow 1 week (dependent on the area of floor)—this lets us achieve the best job possible. Once we have completed the works, we contact you and advise when it is possible to move back in and enjoy your newly polished floors.
